2012 13th year tuition wavier

As graduation time draws near, we are pleased to announce Cabell County Career Technology Center’s own version of the “Promise Scholarship.” Any 2012 Cabell, Lincoln, Mason, or Wayne, County High School graduate may attend a post-secondary, long-term day or night program tuition free (with the exception of the LPN Program).

Books and supplies are the responsibility of the student. Our office will need: (1) a signed recommendation from a teacher or counselor and (2) a record of attendance and grades. The attendance record needs to meet the requirements of the school, which is a 90% . The grade average will have to be at least a C average. The Application and required information must be received by CCCTC by May 1st.

The TABE test is also required by all applicants to determine their math, language, spelling and reading levels. This is given the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00pm, here at the Career Center in room 110.

A registration fee of $100 and Application Fee of $20 are due on or before the start of class. A student who enrolls with the 13th year Tuition Waiver is still responsible for payment of all Lab Fees, Books, Supplies and Testing Fees associated with the student’s course on the first day of class, unless the student has applied for and been approved for a Federal Pell Grant.

The student will maintain the scholarship for the duration of the program as long as the student has faithful attendance and remains in good academic standing. This scholarship is good only for the first program chosen. If the student chooses to attend another program he/she will be considered an adult student and will pay as an adult.

Many classes carry state and national certification and/or college credit.

For more information call 528-5106 or 528-5108.

Student of the Year
2010-2011

Chad Turley
Chad Turley

Chad Turley, a completer in the two year welding high school program, has always been a soft spoken and hard working student who was always willing to go the extra mile to complete an assignment. Chad not only completed assignments but would take on extra work whether it was burning, welding, or griding on any unexpected daily work which would come into shop on a daily basis. His student attendance and hard working ethic would take him the extra mile.

This summer Chad plans to attend the Robert C. Bird Institute to study blue print reading before he returns in the fall for his 13th year to expand and fine tune his welding skills.

Chad also does summer time work at local machine shop to earn extra money as a welder and general helper.

Chad's attendance and 3.0 GPA since middle school has contributed greatly to his success. We wish him the very best in all that he does.
